Miles Fortis ( BTW, milesfortis is Latin for "valorous" soldier) started as a kind of joke. I remembered enough of my public school Latin to put together something that fit my personal life & sound like a name at the same time. I started to use it as a "nom de web" posting on several bulletin boards & the idea came to mind of starting a website of my own. Primarily political in nature but catering to the shooting culture is as an apt description as I'll put on it.
